Delegates of the All Progressive Congress APC Plateau state on Sunday affirmed, Governor Simon Lalong as the party's flag bearer in the next year's Governorship elections.

Our correspondent reports that lalong is the sole aspirant of the party in the forthcoming election.

Moving the motion to affirm governor lalong, the speaker of the state house of assembly hon Joshua Madaki said because of the security situation of the state and lalong been the sole aspirant, he should be affirmed ,the motion was seconded by the former deputy governor of the state Pauline Tallen.

Speaking after the affirmation, Lalong thanked the delegates for the confidence reposed in him.
He said " I see a very. Clear future of plateau, we shall overcome all the challenges facing plateau, I want to thank the people of the state for their support, and appealed to the people of the state to continue to support me at a times.

He also promised to support and promote programmes that would improve the quality of life and deliver the dividends of Democracy to the people of the state.

"For those o have offended please forgive me and for those that offended me I have forgiven you

I would never let plateau people down, I would always continue to stand by my people at all times".

State Chairman of the party in the state , Hon Latep Dabang commended the peaceful nature of the exercise.

He maintained that lalong has done well enoughtobe affirmed and urged citizens to vite for the party come 2019, to build on his achievements.

Plateau state governor Simon Lalong at the weekend said the All Progressive Congress APC in Plateau would provide a level playing ground for all aspirants contesting various positions under the party .


He also said  he has no preferred candidate for any position , the governor also made clarity on the reason they chose indirect primaries in the forth coming party primaries . He gave his reasons as to reward those committed members of the party that are contributing positively to the party.


  Governor  Lalong  stated this known while speaking at the  APC Plateau North Senatorial District gathering in Jos in preparation of  the  parties  primaries  .

He said he is determined to better the lives of citizens of the state and  also called on his commissioners   to  work to deliver their various   L.G.A,s

He also assured the zone the position of the SGS will remain in the zone that the  person in the office currently is on acting capacity but after all the party primaries and local government council elections a new SSG will be appointed.

Chris Giwa  condemns , Rukuba road killings



Proprietor of Giwa Football Club Jos, Amb Chris Giwa and also an aspirant for the Plateau North Senatorial Zone  at the weekend  condemn the killings of innocent citizens in the Rukuba road area of Jos .

Giwa in a statement made available to newsmen in Jos reads that "I truly and deeply lack words to express my heart regret towards this barbaric act that has kept tormenting our people and the residence of Rukuba road, and the entire plateau at large.

I mourn with the people and residence being affected, knowingly well That government of the day cannot protect the life's and property of it's citizen in and out on the plateau, it's so pathetic that the dignity and very lives of our family, brothers, and sisters are daily toy with like fowls or chicken in our lands, and literally taken away from us.

I wonder and ponder on how daily our people live in fear orchestrated by same faces trade places in our environment and community without any demand for Equal rights and Justice, Peace, and stability to the families, making our people camp in IDP , living their own ancestral land worth billions of properties.

Yet, the Perpetrators of all this heinous acts and brutal move have not been brought to book by law or securities of this country, but rather security forces against its own citizens and people. As a people under siege by conspiracy and death, I take a bold step and stand with all my people on the plateau regardless of size or colour, tribe or ethnic affiliations to demand for truth, justice, peace and equipment of human rights and equity by the law, security forces for this families down to all IDPs camp's the need to get back home to their houses and ancestral lands.

While the perpetrators of these acts should be brought to book by law and face the music of there consequences since according to law no individual, institution, or organization is above the rule of law.

Even though, the Government of the day is not doing the needful as it should be doing, I expect them to yet still gear up to it's duty and Responsibilities of doing the right thing in the middle of this human cleansing bedevilling our land and people, advancing and invading our common well being, and unique sense of humour plus unity.

I sincerely condole with all peaceful loving people of plateau State to stand tall and be vigilant in Security and exercise restraint at all costs, and most of all to remain prayerful in God. And may God Almighty father over everything crest, and give us the fortitude, grace and strength to bear this heinous existence.

Because God. Is always on the side of the heaviest battalions and JOS is Jesus our Savior.

 Governor of Plateau State, Hon Simon  Lalong, has approved the appointment of Arc Pam Dung Gyang as the Director-General of his 2019  re-election campaign.

 The statement which was signed by
Mark Longyen,     the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on  Media and Publicity reads that The appointment of Arc Pam Dung Gyang, who is a stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a fomer gubernatorial candidate of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, in Plateau State, takes effect immediately.

Further announcement with regards to the appointment of other members of the campaign team will be made in due course.

Killings could be politically motivated says Pasali

 National Coordinator of Buhari Campaign Organisation, Danladi Pasali on Friday said the attack around Rukuba road which claimed 11 lives and resulted in skirmish in Jos north was politically motivated to disrupt the APC presidential primaries.



Our correspondent  reports that the Thursday night attack had instigated a breakdown of law and order around Jos metropolis with many injured and properties destroyed.



Pasali however said, this was not the first time, merchants of crisis have made attempts to cause a breakdown of law and order during important APC activities in the state.

He said, "they did it during our convention where they created a scenario and attacked APC members irrespective of their religion in June so we are appealing to the Federal Government to assist the, State Government in fishing out all the mischief makers who we know are members of the opposition."



He added that, "there are some people that believe that the peace that has been successfully brought to Plateau by the Governor must be truncated by all means. They can try but they will not succeed because even the primaries today witnessed a large turn out despite their intentions."

Gov Lalong condemns Rukuba road killings

Plateau  state Government on Friday  condenmed the unfortunate happenings in Rukuba road .

Plateau state commissioner of Information and communication Yakubu Dati in a press release in Jos reads that " The attention of the Plateau State Government has been drawn to an attack along Rukuba Road in the early hours of Friday morning. The unfortunate action is generating tension in Jos the state capital. "

The state government express Governor Simon Lalong's condolences to the families of the bereaved and entire community where the incident took place.       Lalong said security agencies have been mobilized and are on red alert to track down the perpetrators.

He assured that security agencies are on top of the situation and advice citizens to go about their lawful businesses without any fear of molestation or intimidation.

The statement by the information commissioner advises citizens to shun fake news,rumour mongering and  provide relevant information to security agencies to ensure a secured and peaceful state.

The Amb. Chris Giwa bid for Senate campaign continues to attract more goodwill and momentum across Plateau North zone.

Yesterday, the campaign train visited the palaces of Adagwom Izere in Jos East LGA and that of the Da Gwom Rei Gyel in Jos South LGA to intimate the royal fathers of the senatorial bid of Amb. Chris Giwa and to seek their blessings and support.

At the two palaces visited,  it was home coming as the campaign team was warmly recieved amidst tremendous solidarity.

Spokesperson of the campaign,  Hon. Samson Admau introduced members of the entourage who accompanied Amb. Chris Giwa to the royal fathers.

Amb. Chris Giwa appreciated Dr.  Issac Wakili the Adagwom Izere and Da. Nga Dangyang the Da Gwom Rei Gyel for their valuable role and contributions in the society and pledged if elected will work together with traditional rulers in the zone to bring about human capital and infrastructural development.

Amb. Chris Giwa was blessed at the two palaces and encouraged to keep up with the developmental strides he is noted for as he is set to emerge as the next Senator representing Plateau North in 2019.

Hon.  Edward Pwajok commenced his tour,  visiting Bassa LGA, on his entourage included the ward chairman of  Gassa ward in Barkin Ladi which is the ward Hon Rufus Bature who is also gunning for the same position hails from.

The ward chairman stated that he is supporting Hon Edward Pwajok because of his outstanding performance at the green chambers ans that Hon Edward Pwajok stands as the best among all other aspirants hence his support.

Tuesday signed into law three bills

Our correspondent reports that  the 3 laws signed into law are ,the  Plateau State Information and Communication Technology Development Agency Law, 2017 ,the  Penal Code of Plateau State 2018 and the Plateau State Administration of Criminal Justice Law 2018.


 Speaking at the occasion on Tuesday Lalong  said the signing of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law 2018, has put an end to the transfer of suspects to Abuja as it has reinforced the framework for the effective prosecution of criminal cases in the state.


According to the Governor, "With the signing of the Laws, the people are assured of the quick dispensation of justice "

Governor Lalong lauded the synergy amongst the three-arms of government which has resulted in the signing of the 3 laws.

Tribunal for Plateau LGA polls constituted by State Chief Judge.

The Plateau State Chief Judge, Justice Yakubu  Dakwak has constituted the State Local Government Election and Appeal Tribunals.

This followed a communication from the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission to the Chief Judge informing him of  the conduct of Local Government Elections in the State to be held on the 10th of October, 2018.

A statement signed by the Chief Registrar of the High Court, Geoffrey Kamyal indicates that the Trial Tribunal  has Jovita Binjim as chairman with Jacob Longden and Isaiah  Randa all legal practitioners as members.

The Appeal Tribunal has Justice Arum Ashom as Chairman and two legal practitioners Nankwat Shaseet and Martin Omohwo as members.

Consequently, the swearing in of the Tribunal Chairmen and members will take place on Tuesday 25th September 2018 by one in the afternoon at the State High Court.

Gov Simon Lalong has urged those seeking elective office to always remain focused on their commitment to better the lives of the people.

The Governor stated this  on monday at a valedictory session for the members of the State Executive Council who had resigned to seek elective offices.
He commended his political appointees for their contribution towards milestone achievements of the rescue administration.

Chief Rufus Bature outgoing SGS and Hon Hitler Dadi outgoing Commissioner, are aspiring for the Plateau North Senatorial seat and Langtang North/Langtang South House of Representatives, respectively.
In their responses, they appreciated Governor Lalong for the opportunity to serve,during the State Executive Council meeting held at the Government House, Little  Rayfield Jos.

It was a glorious moment of joy as Amb. Chris Giwa campaign team stormed Barkin Ladi Local Government Area as part of it's ongoing delegates tour for the PDP senatorial ticket of Plateau North.

The visit to Barkin Ladi elders forum was hosted by Elder Steven, Ngo Sarah and others. Hon. Samson who ushered in and introduced the Giwa campaign team headed by DG Hon. Jerry Nadabo told the elders of their presence to seek the blessings and support of the elders.

The elders were overwhelmed by Giwa's humility and the recognition accorded them by the campaign team.

Elder Steven assured Amb. Giwa of his blessings, he also promised to contact others on Giwa's course. Elder Daniel encouraged Giwa campaign team to be peaceful and united.

Ngo Sarah Yusuf, Former Commissioner of Environment assured of their role as elders to guide and pray for him. She tasked Giwa to embrace other aspirants as he triumphs to victory.

Ngo Mary Dusu emphasized issue of security should be given priority given the heightened security challenges not just in Barkin Ladi but the entire Northern Zone.

While at the royal palace,  the Da Gwom Rei;  Edward Gyang Mashat was very pleased to welcome Giwa and gave him his royal blessings and endorsement.

The meeting ended with  prayers offered on Amb.  Giwa for God's guidance and grace.

KWANDE...Plateau State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress has queried elder statesman Yahaya Kwande for anti party activities.

State APC Chairman Letep Dabang disclosed this during the Central Zone stakeholders meeting of the party in Pankshin.

Dabang said he had asked the elder statesman to explain why he accompanied a presidential of an opposition party for submission of nomination form towards seeking to contest against the APC Presidential candidate Muhamadu Buhari.

He said APC is not a lawless party and that all its member should respect its principles as no one is above the law.

Plateau state Governor Simon Lalong appreciated members of the zone for adopting him and President Buhari as candidates for the twenty nineteen elections gubernatorial and presidential elections respectively, but stressed that the party respects the wish of any member who intends to seek for any of the positions up for grasp in the coming primary elections.

Lalong said members should disregard those claiming to be government candidates and choose credible contestants because he does not have anointed aspirants in the APC.

The party also strategised toward next month's Local Government elections during the meeting and resolved to record a landslide victory in the central zone.

The aspiration of Amb.  Chris Giwa to represent Plateau North zone in the Senate come 2019 received massive boost in Jos North LGA of Plateau State as the delegates and elders unanimously endorsed his aspiration.

Hon. Haruna Gini, former chairman of Old Jos LGA who spoke on behalf of the elders praised Amb.  Giwa for not making bogus promises as is the case with politicians and assured him of the support of Jos North.

Hon. Aminu Zang the PDP chairmanship candidate of Jos North  and Ward chairman of Ali Kazure who spoke on behalf of ward chairmen eulogised on the philanthropic activities of Amb.  Giwa and stated that he is credible for the position going by his antecedents.

An obviously elated Amb.  Giwa told the delegates that he is aspiring for Senate to give the zone credible,  and purposive representation. Amidst cheers from the delegates,  he told them his campaign will be issue based devoid of bitterness, calling on them to vote him so that collectively the zone can witness radical human capital,  and infrastructural development.

Earlier on,  Hon.  Jerry Nadabo the Director General of the campaign had canvassed for the delegates support, charging them to vote Amb.  Chris Giwa for legacy and posterity sake.

The meeting which held today, the 23rd of September, 2018 at Jos North is part of the ongoing delegate tour by the Amb.  Chris Giwa cmapaing organization which has seen the team earlier visiting Jos East, Bassa and and has received tremendous support from party delegates to the senatorial primaries, stakeholders and party supporters.

On the entourage of the campaign team included,  members of the campaign directorate, supporters and stakeholders including, Hon.  James Pam Stephen, Hon.  Samson, Hon.  Chundu Kele, Hon.  Daniel Auta, Alhaji Dan Asabe Garba among many others.

Governor Lalong has cautioned aspirants in the APC from speculating that he has favourites for the the various elective positions in the forthcoming 2019 elections.

The Governor state this during the meeting of the APC in Plateau Central zone which held at the youth center in Pankshin LGA.

The Governor who was represented by her s Deputy, Professor Sonni Tyoden, advised all aspirants to go about campaigns in peacefully order as a level playing ground will be accorded the aspirant by the Governor.

Present at the meeting were party chieftains including, Prof.  Tyoden the Plateau State Deputy Governor, Hon.  Latep Dabang the APC chairman in Plateau State, and all the APC aspirants from the zone.

Governor Simon Lalong  on Sunday  congratulated the Archbishop of the Ecclesiastical Province of Jos ( Anglican Communion) the Most Rev Benjamin Argak Kwashi, on his 63rd birthday.


The Governor of Plateau  State in a statement signed by  Yakubu Dati ,the Commissioner of Information and Communication made available to newsmen reads that Lalong  joins the entire Anglican Community in celebrating the joyous and historical milestone for the Archbishop who has shaped many lives as a preacher, counsellor and philanthropist.


Governor Lalong congratulates family members and friends of the Archbishop, while recalling his visionary, purposeful and responsive leadership style, which has greatly impacted on the lives of those in his diocese and beyond.


As the Archbishop turns 63, the Governor reaffirms that his counsels to the church, his community and the State have helped substantially in the peace building efforts of the administration.


Governor Lalong prays that the Almighty God will grant the Archbishop longer life, good health and strength to keep serving the Lord and the nation.

Col.  Samuel Gulong Fwanje (Rtd), one time aspirant  of House Of Representative Mangu/Bokkos federal constituency on the platform of the All Progressive congress(APC)  paid a humanitarian visit to (VCH) Vom Christian hospital ,Jos South LGA Plateau .

Col Fwanje speaking at the office of the CMD VCH Dr Fred Dachung told of how he has been nursing such gestures as he and his siblings were given brother to in Vom, consequently, he decided to give back his widows mite to the hospital so that patients that can benefit. He said people shouldn't mistake the visit as a partisan one as it is simply apolitical, hence the reason he came in the company of friends who belong to different political parties and tribes.

A friend of Col SG Fwanje Mr Yohanna Gyang who hails from Vom commended the visit and wished the notification wasn't sudden so he could have mobilize other childhood friends to attend.

In appreciation the CMD Dr Fred .D showered gratitude to Col SG Fwanjge for such a wonderful gesture as he said they all took from Vom Christian hospital and he reminded the people that the hospital was the first hospital in West Africa. He wished others will also emulate such a worthy gesture. And also commended the efforts of some whom were the first founders of the hospital do come occasionally to pay a visit too, He spoke of Dr Panda etc, also some came too during the 50th anniversary of the hospital to pay such a humanitarians.

Among those who accompanied Col.  Fwanje included, Hon Lilian Madaki , Amb Friday Bako, Hon Alfred Makut,Hon Lois Vou Pwol, Prince Ibn Rotdunna Sekat , Hon Damla,Hon Joe Fatmun,Nankham tounlap, Col SG Fwangje siblings and friends.
