Plateau state Governor Simon Lalong , at the weekend said  his administration is committed to improving access to quality education at both the primary, secondary and tertiary levels in the state .

He further vowed to sustain investment in the sector to improve the quality of teaching and learning .

Lalong made this known while speaking at the commissioning of projects by the Gindiri Old Students Association GOSA held in Gindiri .

In his words " My  administration is  investing more resources and training in public schools to ensure that children get quality education that is not only affordable, but capable of impacting the society.

"That is why we came up with the Legacy Projects that are dominated by world standard schools that will be second to none when completed.

Lalong further added that his administration is paying special attention to the Technical and Vocational Education to ensure that children receive skills that would enable them to be entrepreneurs and job creators rather than job seekers.

"The days of paper qualification are over and there is no alternative to changing the narrative. We are therefore building two new Technical Schools in Shendam and Pankshin as well as upgrading the one in Bukuru."

" Our administration has also remained firm in the supervision of private schools to ensure that standards are sustained and our children are not given half-baked education or toxic knowledge.

The Governor further added that he has directed the Ministry of Education to ensure they remain very alive to their responsibilities to safeguard the future of our children and the society.
