April 30, 2022 Senator representing Plateau Central Hezekiah Ayuba Dimka, has condemned the attack on Senator Dame Nora Dadu'ut and members of the Nigeria Union ofJournalists, Plateau State Council, even as he asked that perpetrators of the act must be fished out and punished. The Senator who was on tour of the Northern Zone for his gubernatorial ambition was sad on receipt of the news of the attack, noting that it was unfortunate for hoodlums to be allowed to go unpublished. I welcome you to this press conference over the unfortunate attack on our members and Senator representing Plateau South at the National Assembly, Sen. Nora Dadu'ut and her entourage on Thursday, April 28, 2022 in Namu, Qua'an Pan Local Government Area of Plateau State where she commissioned an ICT Hub/E-Library. After the commissioning and they made to leave, the roads were blocked and they were surrounded by the hoodlums. The attackers claimed that four of their members were arrested by armed security men while the programme was ongoing. The hoodlums were said to have been angered by the arrest of a suspected wanted kidnap kingpin by security agencies, and thus decided to vent their anger on passers by and any innocent person they encountered.  The hoodlums then demanded that the senator must secure the release of their members  before they would clear the roads. Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong has expressed outrage over an attack on Senator representing Plateau South District, Prof. Nora Dadu'ut and some journalists which occured on Thursday 28th April after the commissioning of an ICT HUB constructed by the Senator as part of her Constituency Project in Namu, Quan Pan Local Government Area.  The attack which was said to be unrelated to the commissioning of the project was alleged to have been orchestrated by hoodlums who were said to have been angered by the arrest of a suspected wanted kidnap kingpin by security agencies, and thus decided to vent their anger on passers by and any innocent person they encountered.  This led to the burning of one of the security vehicles of the Senator, the damage of her official vehicle as well as the complete burning down of the NUJ Press bus which conveyed members of the Union to cover the event. L. Dabup of Plateau State High Court, Jos, continued today April 26, 2022 with a trail-within-trial in which the second defendant, Yusuf Pam, under cross examination by the prosecuting counsel, Rotimi Jacobs, SAN, contradicted himself over claims that his statements were extracted under duress.   •PUBLIC ALERT ON RENEWED BOMB EXPLOSIONS  The Department of State Services (DSS) hereby draws public attention to plans by criminal elements to return the country to the pre-2015 era reminiscent of IED attacks on soft and hard targets in parts of the country.
